Position: Deputy City Clerk

The City of Oroville is nestled in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.  This picturesque city has an abundant of outdoor activities, museums, antique shops, miles of walking/bike trails with the beautiful Feather River a block from City Hall.

The Deputy City Clerk, under the general direction of the City Administrator (acting as City Clerk), performs the statutory duties of City Clerk under the provisions of the City Charter, City Code and state law; plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the City Clerk’s Office; provides responsible, professional staff assistance to the City Administrator and City Council; undertakes related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Five years secretarial and/or administrative experience in a Municipal City Clerk/Administration Department, including at least two years of records management, preferably in a local government jurisdiction.  Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree with a Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration or a closely related field; a Master’s Degree is desirable.  Possession of a valid California Driver License; Municipal Clerk Certification is desirable.
