The City of San Leandro, CA is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as Administrative Assistant III working in the City Council/City Manager’s Office.  This exciting opportunity will provide day-to-day administrative and logistical support for the Mayor and six Councilmembers.  Key attributes of a successful candidate include the ability to manage complex scheduling, complete daily tasks, plan and coordinate events for elected officials, and assist customers, both internal and external.  The ideal candidate will be flexible, possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate sound judgment, and be committed to exceptional customer service.  The Administrative Assistant III must be dedicated to communicating effectively and cultivating successful working relationships with others, including staff at all levels, outside stakeholders, and elected officials.

Education and Experience Guidelines:  Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be at least two years of relevant, increasingly responsible experience in general administrative support, preferably in the public sector, a high school diploma or certified equivalent (GED), and supplemental course work in office, business or public administration, management and supervision, or a closely-related field.
