The City of San Bernardino is seeking an experienced professional who can assist the Deputy City Clerk in managing and carrying out responsibilities and functions of the office of the City Clerk, including the preparation of agendas and minutes, maintenance of official City records, managing a high volume of public records requests, supervising employees, and preparation for and conduct of City elections. 

The most successful candidate will be a highly organized, detail oriented, customer service focused, and experienced professional, certified as a municipal clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or a G.E.D. equivalent; and four years of highly responsible administrative experience involving the development and maintenance of detailed and complex records and legal documents, the meeting of critical deadlines and the interpretation of laws, regulations and other legal requirements; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and completion of Certified Municipal Clerk courses is highly desirable.

Accreditation shall be by a national or regional accreditation body that is recognized by the Secretary of the United States Department of Education.
