Leading Calmly Through Conflict

The COVID-19 response has thrust many of us into bewildering territory and shifted the way we communicate, lead, and develop our teams. Our people are stressed, and our leaders are tired. Conflict is rising out of fear, fatigue, and uncertainty. These are perplexing times.

The reality? Wishing it were different won’t change things and Ignoring the conflicts will not make them stop. Or, lessen the chance of escalation.

Law enforcement crisis and hostage negotiators are world-renowned for their ability to apply expert conflict resolution and communication skills in situations that are tense, (potentially) volatile, and where lives can be at risk. They do this by decoding the needs of the individual and adapting their nonverbal as well as their language patterns to influence positive outcomes.

Join Faith Wood on May 5th at 2 – 6:30 p.m. PT as she shares insights into the techniques used by these professionals to reduce conflicts. Be prepared to discover and practice how to:

  • Improve positive information flow through observation-based communication – verbal and nonverbal.
  • Develop simple responses designed to reduce conflict triggering communications.
  • Implement emotional mastery techniques for yourself and those you care about.
  • Adapt your communication styles for better receptivity in an online world.
  • Lead calmly through conflicts on any digital platform.

Approved for 1.25 CMC/MMC Education Points with completed learning assessment.
